CHAPTER 14

Everything about this man confuses and attracts me for some reason. It's a whole irresistible mess, but I already have my own mess to deal with, so I don't need another one.

"I don't understand, sir," I pretend to check the time. There's still half an hour until official time to leave, but I need to get away right now. "If you'll excuse me, I need to leave a little early."

"Why?" His voice becomes soft but grave, displaying his superiority, as always.

"It's personal, boss." I shut down my computer, grab my bag, and stand up. He hurries to stand beside me. He no longer seems worried like he was at first. Now he looks determined. I try to smile and say goodbye, but he doesn't seem to want to let me go.
